Pilot testing provides valuable information for the continued development of FTCE/FELE examinations and gives examinees an opportunity to practice taking items similar to those offered on current certification exams. Pilot test sessions consist of approximately 100 multiple choice questions and last up to 2 hours. Scores are not provided to the participant, nor are they reported to colleges, universities, or school districts. Pilot test scores cannot be used for certification or graduation purposes.
Eligible pilot test participants include students, those certified within the last three years, or individuals with a degree in the pilot test field. Current certification in the pilot test field is not required, but you should have an applicable background including coursework or experience in the pilot test field.
If you are currently taking any of the FTCE/FELE examinations for certification or recertification purposes, the 31-day rule does not apply to pilot testing and you may register for an FTCE/FELE exam at any time before or after pilot testing.
