If you fail one or more multiple-choice tests (or subtests) that were taken at a Regular or Supplemental paper-and-pencil test administration, you may request that your test be handscored, with the following exceptions:
When you receive your official score report in the mail, you will also receive a Score Interpretation Guide. The guide contains a request form for handscoring an examination. Return the form with a $10 payment to the FTCE/FELE program address provided on the form. Your request must be received in the FTCE/FELE program office within 30 calendar days after score reports are mailed (see "Test Dates").
If you fail one or more paper-and-pencil or computer-based tests (or subtests), you may request an appointment for a score verification session. The sessions are held in Tallahassee. There are eight sessions per year. Appointments for a session are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. The sessions are not intended as study sessions for future tests; they are for the purpose of identifying any scoring errors.
The information that you will receive with your score report includes a form for requesting an appointment for a score verification session. Your request must be received at the address printed on the form no later than 30 calendar days after the score reports are mailed (see "Test Dates" for a list of score report dates). See "Canceling or Voiding of Test Scores" for additional information.
A nonrefundable processing fee of $25 must be included with the request form.
During the score verification session, you will have an opportunity to challenge test items that you believe have a scoring error. All challenges will be reviewed by the Department, and you will receive a response in approximately 30 days. If you do not agree with the Department's response, you will have an opportunity to request an administrative hearing in accordance with the provisions of Section 120.57, Florida Statutes.
