Test information guides (also known as test preparation guides or study guides) are available for the FTCE and FELE tests. FTCE guides are each approximately 30 pages
in length and include a description of the test, a list of competencies and skills tested, and sample test items.
The FELE test information guide is approximately 50 pages in length and includes a list of the competencies
tested, an annotated bibliography, and five sample questions for each of the eight areas covered by the exam.
This test information guide is not intended as an all-inclusive source of general knowledge, nor is it a
substitute for college course work. The sample items are not an exact representation of the content of the
actual test. Instead, the guide is intended to help candidates prepare for an examination by presenting an
overview of the content and format of the examination.
It is to a candidate’s advantage to order guides well in advance of the test date. Copies of FTCE and FELE
test information guides may also be found in many Florida university libraries and in a limited number of college bookstores.
